Frequently asked

Real answers. No sales pitch.

Every question we hear on a strategy call, answered here in plain language. If your question is not on this page, ask it on the call.

Pricing

How much does a website cost?+
Most small business sites we ship fall into a clear band based on scope. We publish a real starting number on the strategy call so you are not guessing. No bait-and-switch quotes, no surprise invoices later.
Do you charge a monthly retainer?+
Only if you want one. The build is a fixed-scope project price. After launch, you can stay on a monthly support plan if you want continuous improvements, or you can pay per change. Both options are spelled out before you sign anything.
Are there hidden third-party costs?+
No surprises. We tell you upfront which third-party tools your site needs (hosting, email, analytics, CRM, etc.) and what they cost. Most are under fifty dollars a month combined.
Do you offer payment plans?+
Yes for most projects. Typical structure is fifty percent at signing, fifty percent at launch. For larger builds we will split it three ways. Always discussed openly on the strategy call.

Timeline

How fast can you launch?+
As early as one week for a focused single-page launch. Two to four weeks for a full multi-page site. Six to eight weeks for a deep operational platform with portals, integrations, or e-commerce.
Why is your timeline so much faster than other agencies?+
We are operators. We treat your project the same way we treat a same-day junk removal job: scope it, ship it, do not let it sit. Most agencies sell hours, so the longer it takes, the more they bill. We sell outcomes.
What if I have a tight deadline?+
Tell us on the call. We have shipped sites in five days for trade show launches and seasonal campaigns. We will not pretend it is possible if it is not, but we will get creative on what we can ship by your date.
What happens if I am the bottleneck?+
It happens. Most projects stall on content from your side, not code from ours. We build the timeline assuming reasonable response times and we will tell you exactly what we need from you at each step.

SEO and ranking

Will my website rank on Google?+
Ranking is earned, not bought. We build sites with the technical foundation that lets you rank: clean structured data, fast Core Web Vitals, proper internal linking, real content depth. Once you have that foundation, the local SEO work (Google Business Profile, reviews, citations) is what closes the gap. We can help with both.
Do you offer ongoing SEO services?+
Yes. We do not run SEO as a black box. You get a real monthly report with rankings, traffic, leads, and a punch list. We work the punch list. You see the results.
Will I lose my current Google rankings during a redesign?+
Not if it is done right. We map every old URL to its new equivalent with a 301 redirect, preserve title tags and meta descriptions where they are working, and validate everything is indexed correctly post-launch. We have migrated sites with no traffic loss and most see a gain inside the first month.
How long until my new site ranks?+
Pages that target low-competition long-tail keywords can rank inside 30 to 60 days. Competitive head terms take six months to a year of consistent content and link building. We will be honest with you about which terms are which.

Tech and hosting

What technology do you use?+
Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS v4. Hosted on Vercel Edge. This stack is the same one Vercel themselves, Apple, Notion, and most modern technology companies use. It is fast, maintainable, and not going anywhere.
Why not WordPress?+
WordPress is great for blogs and people who want a plugin for everything. For a service business that needs speed, security, and predictable performance, custom Next.js is faster, more secure, easier to maintain, and ranks better. If you specifically need WordPress, we can talk about it, but we will tell you why we recommend against it.
Do you handle hosting?+
Yes. Vercel Edge hosting included. We monitor uptime, performance, and errors. Most clients never think about hosting again.
What about security?+
Every site ships with HSTS, Content Security Policy, secure headers, dependency scanning, and automated security updates. We have shipped sites that have run for years with no security incidents.

Content and design

Do you write the copy?+
Yes if you want us to. Most clients want a draft from us that they edit, which is faster than starting from a blank page. We write in your voice, not ours, and you have the final say on every word.
Where do the photos come from?+
Real photos beat stock every time. If you have a library, we use it. If you do not, we can direct a local photographer for the build or curate the best stock options. We tell you which approach makes sense for your budget.
Can I make my own edits after launch?+
We can wire up a content management system for the parts of the site that change often (blog, services, team). For everything else, you tell us what you want changed and it is done within a day.
Do you do logo design and branding?+
We focus on websites. If your logo is dated, we will tell you and recommend a partner. If your brand needs a full overhaul, that becomes its own project before the website starts.

Ownership and partnership

Do I own my website?+
Yes. You own the design, the content, the code. We give you a complete handoff document and a code archive. You can take it anywhere if we ever stop being a fit.
What if I want to leave?+
We make it painless. Full handoff, code archive, DNS transfer guidance, no buyout fees. We earn the relationship every month or we lose it.
Who actually does the work?+
Our internal team. No offshore handoffs, no white-label resellers. The person you meet on the strategy call is the person on the build calls.
How does this differ from a freelancer?+
A freelancer disappears when they get busy. We are a team with redundancy, infrastructure, and a service-level commitment. We have shipped sites that were down for a freelancer for months and our team had them stabilized inside a week.
